Baseball Recap: Forreston Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Forreston was the 4-1 winner over Dakota when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals fell just short of the Indians by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by just one run.

Alec Schoonhoven spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carson Akins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Kendall Erdmann also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Forreston's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4. As for Dakota, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Looking ahead, Forreston will take on Polo at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dakota will be paying especially close attention to the Cardinals' match: after the Cardinals face off against the Marcos, they'll take on Dakota again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
