Basketball Recap: Ava Hillabold's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sissonville over Greenbrier East

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sissonville can now relate to. They fell to the Greenbrier East Spartans 56-51.

Sissonville's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Hillabold, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hillabold a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Makaela Ullman, who posted seven points in addition to nine rebounds and five steals.

Sissonville's loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Greenbrier East, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-1.

Sissonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenbrier East, they will challenge Wayne at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Wayne will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Greenbrier East surely won't give up without a fight.
