Pine Forest and Triton are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. Pine Forest will be playing at home against Triton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Pine Forest is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Orange just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 9-8.

Ryan Temple put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Ja'Lynn Thomas was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Kaydyn Thomas was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Triton never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on Westover with a sharp 13-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won nine in a row.

The team relied heavily on William Meredith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Triton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

Triton's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Pine Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

Pine Forest might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Triton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Pine Forest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
