Football Recap: Scripps Ranch Starts Season with Victory Against Clairemont + How To Watch

Scripps Ranch had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with an 18-7 win over the Clairemont Chieftains.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Scripps Ranch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kennedy McCabe, who threw for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 76.5% of her passes, and also rushed for 33 yards. That's the most rushing yards McCabe has posted since back in October of 2024.

Clairemont's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scripps Ranch will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against La Costa Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clairemont, they will host Hilltop at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
