            Softball Recap: Mott Corsairs vs. Walled Lake Central Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            Mott had lost 16 straight on the road dating back to last season, but  on Saturday they dropped their record down to 1-15 to make it 17. They lost  20-8 to the Walled Lake Central Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  10-0  on Saturday.
As for Walled Lake Central, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.0 runs over those games.
 For Walled Lake Central's part,  Cameron Zaid was a standout: she got on base  in all five of her plate appearances with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  triple. Those  three  RBI gave  Zaid a new career-high.  Jessica Fick was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with three  stolen bases, four  runs,  and one  RBI.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mott will  take on  rival Milford  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Walled Lake Central is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Walled Lake Northern  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
