Baseball Recap: South Mountain Comes Up Short

South Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Gilbert Tigers, falling 26-2.

Noah Bura made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

South Mountain's record is now 0-18. As for Gilbert, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Mountain will welcome Camelback at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gilbert, they will challenge Higley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
