Basketball Recap: Prairie Pirates vs. Lapwai Wildcats
Prairie lost against Lapwai back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Prairie Pirates took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lapwai Wildcats. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lapwai's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcisio Noriega, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those six assists gave Noriega a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Douglas Pappan, who went 6 for 11 en route to 15 points.
Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Lapwai, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.
Looking ahead, Prairie is taking a road trip to square off against Potlatch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Prairie is facing Potlatch at the right time seeing as Potlatch is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Lapwai, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
