Basketball Recap: Verndale Comes Up Short

Verndale suffered their biggest loss since March 9, 2024 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through an 89-56 loss at the hands of the Browerville Tigers. The Pirates have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Verndale's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Browerville, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Verndale will host Menahga at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Verndale is facing Menahga at the right time seeing as Menahga is stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Browerville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brandon/Evansville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Browerville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 games -- so hopefully Brandon/Evansville likes a good challenge.
