Baseball Recap: Avella Takes a Loss

Avella made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Greensburg Central Catholic, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Centurions by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Avella's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Greensburg Central Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Avella is set to take on their familiar foe Carmichaels at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.6, the Mighty Mikes 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Greensburg Central Catholic will square off against rival Jeannette at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
