Soccer Recap: Gadsden City Comes Up Short

Gadsden City came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Mountain Brook Spartans, falling 9-1. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Spartans are ranked 19th).

Gadsden City's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Mountain Brook, their win bumped their record up to 10-2-1.

When Gadsden City and Mountain Brook next hit the pitch, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Gadsden City will try to stop Southside's eight-game winning streak when they meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mountain Brook will square off against Florence and their nine-game winning streak at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
