After flying high against Bogalusa on Monday, Sumner came back down to earth. The Cowboys fell just short of the Simpson Academy Cougars by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Cowboys' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Sumner's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Simpson Academy, they moved to 11-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Sumner will face off against Doyle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Simpson Academy, they will take on Park Place Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
