Volleyball Recap: Valley Comes Up Short

If Valley was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Pojoaque Valley on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the Albuquerque Academy Chargers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Vikings have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

While Valley was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Albuquerque Academy's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16, 25-20.

Amariah Altamirano paced Valley's offense, picking up seven kills. Altamirano got some help from Eliana Mulbery and her six assists.

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Albuquerque Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Coincidentally, Valley and Albuquerque Academy will both be playing Hope Christian the next time they take the court. The Chargers will host the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Vikings will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th.
