Football Recap: Apex Comes Up Short at Home Against Cary + How To Watch

Apex unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Saturday as they fell 25-10 to the Cary Imps. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Imps apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Nick Grena was a one-man wrecking crew For Cary. as he rushed for 203 yards and one TD while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 60 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Tony Stephens helped out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apex will venture away from home to take on Fuquay - Varina at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cary, they will head out to square off against Athens Drive at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
