Basketball Recap: New Heights Christian Academy Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Greenwood, New Heights Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 48-47 victory over the McAuley Catholic Warriors. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 56-53 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

New Heights Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Decker led the charge by dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadon Smith, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points.

New Heights Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive matches.

New Heights Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points over those games. As for McAuley Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-4.
