The Tri-Valley Vikings will challenge the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tri-Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Tri-Valley fell victim to Peoria Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 2-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

Tri-Valley got a good showing from Lucas Filarski, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Filarski has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Maroa-Forsyth, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let Riverton get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7-1 record this season.
