Softball Recap: Anderson County Wins High-Profile Game Against Assumption

Anderson County faced Assumption in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Bearcats skirted past the Rockets 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won four in a row.

Lacey Osborne spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Anderson County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liliana Mefford, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Mefford has posted since back in April.

Anderson County's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Assumption, they moved to 25-9 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
