Soccer Recap: Richland Comes Up Short

Richland lost against Chiawana back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Riverhawks who were credited with the win. The Chiawana Riverhawks got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Richland Bombers' four. While losing is never fun, Richland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Chiawana are ranked 11th).

Kendyn SparKs and Justin O'Niel scored both of Richland's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Richland now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Chiawana, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Richland has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Lewis & Clark on the 1st. As for Chiawana, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 1-0 win against Hanford on the 1st.
