Baseball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for South Park

There's no place like home for South Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the South Allegheny Gladiators on Tuesday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 12-7 victory the Gladiators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Cooper Hochendoner tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

South Park's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for South Allegheny, their record now sits at 4-7.

South Park will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Gladiators: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
