Basketball Recap: Liberty's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Liberty won the last time they faced Mountain Ridge, and Francesca Sofia did her part to make sure it happened again. The Liberty Lions breezed by the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions to the tune of 65-29 on Friday thanks in part to Sofia, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Her evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Kallee Hilt, who posted 12 points. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games.

Liberty's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-7. As for Mountain Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-57 loss against O'Connor on the 20th. Mountain Ridge has also already played their next game, a 39-34 win against Boulder Creek on the 22nd.
