Somerville entered their tilt with Hearne on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Eagles. While the Yeguas didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Somerville easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-20.

Karys Ellis paced Somerville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Ellis got some help from Anette Reyna and her 13 assists. Reyna was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

Somerville's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Hearne, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Somerville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Hempstead on the 23rd. As for Hearne, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Trinity on the 23rd.
