Softball Preview: Elmwood Royals vs. Arcadia Redskins
Elmwood is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will be playing at home against the Arcadia Redskins at 5:00 p.m. Elmwood is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Elmwood fell victim to Whitmer and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.
Elmwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trinity Sander, who went 2-for-4 with one double.
Meanwhile, Arcadia beat Upper Scioto Valley 5-1 on Tuesday. That four run margin sets a new team best for the Redskins this season.
Upper Scioto Valley's batters probably weren't too happy with Alanna Tucker, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (she gave up a single walk). With that strong performance, Tucker is now averaging an impressive 6.2 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addy Colman, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addyson McCartney, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Arcadia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upper Scioto Valley didn't got any hits.
Arcadia's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Elmwood, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Everything went Elmwood's way against Arcadia in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Elmwood made off with a 13-0 win. Do the Royals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redskins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
