The La Lumiere Lakers will face off against the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. La Lumiere is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

La Lumiere is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since April 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Heritage Christian by a score of 5-3. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Josh Jaracz was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sabastian Morris, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Elkhart Christian Academy came up short against Jimtown on Monday, falling 18-3. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Jimmies recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

James Ramirez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Ramirez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Elkhart Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for La Lumiere, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. La Lumiere has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Elkhart Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

La Lumiere skirted past Elkhart Christian Academy 5-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2018. Do the Lakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
