Lutheran entered their tilt with Castle View on Tuesday with 25 consecutive wins dating back to last season, and they'll enter their next game with 26. They put the hurt on the Sabercats with a sharp 20-1 victory. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Sabercats, too.
Ella Faries was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Faries was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Elle Beausoleil was incredible, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kiley Glenn, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Castle View only posted an OBP of .273.
Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Coming up, Lutheran will take on Fossil Ridge in a tournament on Thursday. As for Castle View, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Erie at 5:00 p.m.
