Softball Game Preview: Robinson Rockets vs. Shepherd Pirates

For the second straight game, Robinson will face off against Shepherd. The Rockets will take on the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Robinson will be looking to extend their current 25-game winning streak.

Robinson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They beat Shepherd by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-1.

For Shepherd's part, Isabelle Hooper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. Hooper has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Shepherd saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Neveah Murphey, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Robinson's victory bumped their record up to 32-2. As for Shepherd, their loss dropped their record down to 26-11.

Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Robinson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .400.
