Preview: Mount Si Wildcats vs. Glacier Peak Grizzlies
After two games on the road, Mount Si is heading back home. They will take on The Glacier Peak Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mount Si focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.
Last Friday, Mount Si was able to grind out a solid victory over Bothell, taking the game 30-18. Mount Si pushed the score to 30-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Bothell cut but never quite recovered from.
Beau Phillips was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. Phillips is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Jake Johnson got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Glacier Peak unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by Lake Stevens at home and fell 42-7. Glacier Peak was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
With Mount Si's win and Glacier Peak's defeat, both teams now sport identical 6-3 records.
