Softball Recap: Pittsfield Comes Up Short

The matchup between Pittsfield and Agawam on Tuesday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Generals lost 18-6 to the Brownies. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Generals have suffered since April 16th.

Nevaeh Lopez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Aitken, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Pittsfield and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Agawam, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pittsfield is set to take on their familiar foe Westfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Agawam will face off against rival Minnechaug Regional at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
