Soccer Game Preview: Virginia High vs. Graham

The Virginia High Bearcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Graham G-Men at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Virginia High and Marion meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Bearcats came up short against the Goat, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Virginia High can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Marion are ranked 39th).

Meanwhile, Graham had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Blue Tornado with a sharp 4-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Graham, who have now won four matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Virginia High's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Graham, their win bumped their record up to 7-2-1.

Virginia High suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Graham in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Bearcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
