Baseball Recap: Platteview Gets the Win

Platteview lost to Adams Central back in April of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Trojans came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 7-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Platteview got a great performance from Tucker Riha as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Riha has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dylan Thomas, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Platteview's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Nick Clark was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Platteview's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Adams Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Platteview has already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Hastings on the 6th. As for Adams Central, they will square off against Holdrege at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dusters have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
