Preview: Oxford Prep Griffins vs. Eno River Bobcats
The Oxford Prep Griffins will head out on the road to take on the Eno River Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oxford Prep is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Oxford Prep was the victim of a tough 55-32 defeat at the hands of Vance Charter. While losing is never fun, Oxford Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 504th, while Vance Charter is ranked 198th).
Meanwhile, Eno River unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 40-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clover Garden School.
Oxford Prep has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Eno River, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.
Oxford Prep came up short against Eno River when the teams last played back in January, falling 46-41. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Eno River's Madison Hobbs, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 21 rebounds.
