Recap: North Shore Mustangs vs. West Brook Bruins

The North Shore Mustangs lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Saturday was a bit more commanding. They were dealt a 70-39 loss at the hands of West Brook. While losing is never fun, North Shore can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while West Brook is ranked 67th).

West Brook got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashton Simmons out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Simmons is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Elijah Garrett was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.

North Shore dropped their record down to 12-16 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for West Brook, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

North Shore will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Humble at 7:00 p.m. Humble has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28. As for West Brook, they will head out on the road to challenge Kingwood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
