Volleyball Recap: Gilman Comes Up Short

If Gilman was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Greenwood last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates came up short against the Columbus Catholic Dons on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-12, 25-13.

Gilman has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Columbus Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-13 record this season.

Gilman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Colby on the 9th. As for Columbus Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Loyal on the 9th.
