Baseball Game Preview: Iola Bulldogs vs. Mumford Mustangs

For the second straight game, Iola will face off against Mumford. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Iola 2.4, Mumford 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Iola is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Mumford just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 8-4 to the Mustangs.

Iola saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Fowler, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The win (which was Mumford's 11th in a row) raised their record to 19-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Iola, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.
