Basketball Recap: Warren Easton Comes Up Short

Warren Easton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 52-41 to the Archbishop Rummel Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Raiders are ranked 44th).

Archbishop Rummel's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from TJ Duhe, who posted 18 points and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Duhe has scored at least a third of Archbishop Rummel's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarcus Jones, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Warren Easton's defeat dropped their record down to 16-24. As for Archbishop Rummel, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren Easton will take on Brother Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Archbishop Rummel, they will square off against John Curtis Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
