Basketball Recap: Kyra Morris Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Berry

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ardrey Kell, Palisades was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Berry Cardinals by a score of 50-38. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 37-22 back in December of 2024.

Palisades' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyra Morris led the charge by putting up nine points in addition to five assists and five steals. Morris is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Tynilla Simpkins was another key player, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Palisades smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Berry still got an impressive performance from Parker Breelove, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynlee Miller, who earned nine points.

Palisades' win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Berry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palisades has already played their next game (against Myers Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Berry has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against South Mecklenburg.
