Soccer Game Preview: Woodgrove vs. Park View

Woodgrove hasn't had much luck against Park View recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wolverines will welcome the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Woodgrove's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Thursday, Woodgrove sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over John Champe. Even though Woodgrove got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Dax Berg was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Carson Ormsby and Liam Barrus scored both of Woodgrove's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Park View was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Loudoun County. While losing is never fun, Park View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 164th, while Loudoun County are ranked 42nd).

Woodgrove's win bumped their record up to 4-2-1. As for Park View, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
