Baseball Recap: West Point Comes Up Short

West Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Lafayette Commodores, falling 14-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Commodores this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Tuesday.

West Point's loss dropped their record down to 9-20. As for Lafayette, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

West Point wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-2 defeat against Starkville on the 12th. As for Lafayette, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-1 loss against Hernando on the 14th.
