Recap: Cleveland Rams vs. Clayton Comets
The Cleveland Rams are still undefeated this season after their matchup against the Clayton Comets on Friday, but the Clayton Comets came as close as anyone has to beating them. Cleveland skirted past Clayton 33-31. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Jackson Byrd was his usual excellent self, throwing for 347 yards and four touchdowns. Jordan Gulley also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Cleveland's win was their 11th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 11-0. As for Clayton, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cleveland will take on Gray's Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gray's Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Cleveland is ranked tenth). As for Clayton, they will be playing at home against South View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
