Basketball Recap: Dyett Finds Playoff Glory Versus Butler

It's playoff time, and Dyett had no trouble coming through when it counted. They secured a 54-50 W over the Butler Lynx on Wednesday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Lynx are ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dyett to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rickey Coleman, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Thanks to that strong game, Coleman now owns an excellent 45.7% shooting accuracy. Jah'Mir Brown was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Dyett has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. Butler's defeat dropped their record down to 21-10.

Dyett didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-43 victory against Leo on the 7th. Butler does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
