Softball Preview: Eufaula Ironheads vs. Checotah Wildcats
Eufaula hasn't had much luck against Checotah recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eufaula Ironheads will square off against the Checotah Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Eufaula is looking to tack on another W to their 13-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Eufaula made easy work of Warner and carried off a 7-1 win. The Ironheads might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matches by six runs or more this season.
Meanwhile, Checotah gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against McAlester , sneaking past 5-4.
Hailey Prince made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive pitching appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
