Basketball Recap: Bryan Bears vs. Columbus Discoverers
Bryan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through an 84-51 loss at the hands of the Columbus Discoverers. The Bears were down 62-39 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Loss or not, Bryan got some senior leadership from Deon Darnell and Kaleb Kimble. Darnell went 7-for-14 on his way to 17 points, while Kimble went 6-for-13 en route to 15 points. Kimble's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Dom Hairston also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Quenton Gustafson was a one-man wrecking crew for Columbus as he went 5-for-8 to rack up 13 points and six rebounds. What's more, Gustafson posted two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Zach Nelson was another key player, going 5-for-9 on his way to 14 points.
Bryan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-23. As for Columbus, their victory bumped their record up to 6-17.
As of now, neither Bryan nor Columbus have any future games scheduled.
