Baseball Recap: Aspen Comes Up Short

After flying high against Moffat County on Friday, Aspen came back down to earth. The Skiers took an 18-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagle Valley Devils on Tuesday. The Skiers have struggled against the Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Dylan Mika made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs. He has become a key player for Aspen: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-8 otherwise.

Aspen's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Eagle Valley, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Devils beat Aspen by a score of 11-7 later that day.
