Basketball Recap: Keith Comes Up Short

Keith was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 56-40 fall against the Baker Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Hornets are ranked 32nd).

Despite the loss, Keith still got an impressive performance from Titus Lanier, who went 8 of 15 en route to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Hall, who posted nine points.

Baker's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derrick Florence Lll, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Parrias Baker, who put up ten points and eight rebounds.

Keith's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Baker, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-6.

Keith wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 80-22 victory against Johnson on the 3rd. As for Baker, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bryant at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th.
