Baseball Game Preview: Canby Cougars vs. Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts Mustangs

The Canby Cougars will head out to square off against the Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Canby is coming into the game hot, having won their last 12 games.

Canby is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oregon's top teams: La Salle, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Canby was ranked 13th). The Cougars never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Wednesday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Parkrose on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Canby's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.

Everything went Canby's way against Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Canby made off with a 10-0 victory.
