Recap: Sterling Jets vs. Dorchester Longhorns

The Sterling Jets's 13-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They blew past Dorchester 48-16 at home. Sterling's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Sterling's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Horstman, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 0 assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Horstman has scored at least 25% of Sterling's points. Another player making a difference was Colin Wambold, who scored 11 points along with three steals.

Sterling's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-9. As for Dorchester, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10.

Sterling won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer at 8:00 p.m. on January 5th. Hopefully Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Friday. As for Dorchester, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against College View Academy at 8:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (College View Academy is ranked 261st, while Dorchester is ranked 284th).
