Softball Recap: Hokes Bluff Has No Trouble Against Weaver

Hokes Bluff never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over the Weaver Bearcats. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Sophia Jackson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Hill, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Hokes Bluff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weaver only posted an OBP of .077.

Hokes Bluff pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Weaver, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Coincidentally, Hokes Bluff and Weaver will both be playing Central of Clay County the next time they take the field. Weaver will host Central of Clay County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Hokes Bluff will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
