Softball Recap: Villa Madonna Vikings vs. Bellevue Tigers
Villa Madonna proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 21) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Bellevue Tigers 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Tigers last Friday, they had to take a 12-10 defeat.

Cam Kratzer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Kratzer wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kate Gibbs, who went 2-for-4 with one double.
Villa Madonna now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Bellevue, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Villa Madonna will challenge Newport at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bellevue, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Williamstown at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
