Baseball Recap: Benton Comes Up Short

Benton lost against Chillicothe back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cardinals took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Benton's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Chillicothe, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Benton and Chillicothe should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Cardinals will challenge Richmond at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (96 vs. 293). Meanwhile, Chillicothe (ranked 21st) will meet Lafayette (ranked 341st) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Hornets' favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while the Fighting Irish have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
