Nelsonville-York falls despite strong effort from Airah Lavy

The Nelsonville-York Buckeyes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 51-36 bruising from Logan. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Nelsonville-York has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Nelsonville-York lost, one person who can't be blamed is Airah Lavy. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Lavy is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kalina Hernandez, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.

Logan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Makenzie Daubenmire, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Daubenmire is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted three or more in the last three games she's played. Claire Warren was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven assists and three steals.

Nelsonville-York has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Logan, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13.

Nelsonville-York will square off against Federal Hocking at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Logan, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-34 loss vs. Fairfield Union on the 8th.
