Recap: Barberton Magics vs. Copley Indians
The Barberton Magics's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Copley at home and fell 62-30. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Barberton in their matchups with Copley: they've now lost six in a row.
It was another big night for Izzy Callaway, who scored 22 points for Copley. That makes it three consecutive games in which Callaway has scored at least a third of Copley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Mcknight, who scored 11 points.
Barberton has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season. As for Copley, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barberton will take on Aurora at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Aurora presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Barberton in Ohio (Aurora is ranked 145th, while Barberton is ranked 639th). As for Copley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Revere at 6:00 p.m.
