Baseball Recap: Cedarcrest Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

Cedarcrest won the last time they faced Renton and things went their way on Monday too. The Red Wolves blew past the Red Hawks 14-2. The result was nothing new for the Red Wolves, who have now won 11 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Quinn Larson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cedarcrest got a massive performance out of Luke Thompson, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Thompson has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Fryc, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Cedarcrest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Renton only posted a batting average of .091.

Cedarcrest's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Renton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Cedarcrest didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-2 defeat against Bellevue on the 29th. As for Renton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-1 loss against Tyee on the 29th.
